November 14-28th Kari and I had the opportunity to go to Australia. We spent 4 days in Sydney and the remainder of the time in the Gold Coast, 3 days in Surfers Paradise and 6 days in Coolangata. We traveled with Pasty (mom), Gary (step dad), Brent (brother), Emily (step sister), Ellen (step sister), Evan (her husband), Ben (step brother), and Danielle (his wife). Here is a break down of what we did, if you would rather skip the details pictures are below.

Kari and I left Cedar Rapids at about 5:00 PM. We met Brent in St. Louis and took a flight from there to LA. We met up with the rest of our traveling companions and had a couple of hours lay over. Our flight was a little late we left LA at about 12:30 AM Saturday morning. We flew Quantas Airlines to Sydney the flight was about 14 hours. It actually was not that bad you have your own little TV with a good selection of new On Demand Movies, they also have free booze. Kari and I got a decent amount of sleep and we landed about 9 AM ish on Sunday Sydney time (5:00 PM Saturday CR time). We got cabs to our hotel the Mantra on Kent and dropped off our bags, we were ready to hit the ground running. We had lunch at a café in the Queen Victoria Building, next we went to the Sydney Tower. Sydney Tower looks like the Space Needle, we went on an Australia informational ride called Oztrek plus we went to the top to the Observation Deck. The Sydney Aquarium was next pretty cool aquarium with a lot of Australian animals including Platypus, Crocodile, and Sharks. All of the sight seeing made us thirsty so we headed to the nearest bar in the Darling Harbor. After quelling our thirst with a couple of pints of Australian beers (not Fosters) we went back to our hotel to get checked in and cleaned up a bit. That night we went to a seafood restaurant in the Darling Harbor for dinner. Everyone was pretty beat so after eating we headed back to the hotel to get some shut eye.....MORE TO COME STOP BACK FOR MORE DETAILS
